Meet Garden Coach Crystal Jarvis, owner of Lettuce Grow Something.
If you were to catch a glimpse of her intensively planted raised beds, you might be surprised to learn Crystal Jarvis, owner of Lettuce Grow Something in Austin, Texas, was not born with “a green thumb”. “I am not one of those people who grew up around gardening and had a love for it since my childhood,” she says.
In fact, she used to hate a lot of fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes and avocados, and never gave a thought to where her fresh food came from. It wasn’t until she and her husband bought their first home and decided to try their hands at gardening that Crystal fell in love with the beauty and resourcefulness of growing her own organic produce. Fast forward seventeen years, she’s on a mission to spread the word about how gardening can change your life for the better.
The more Crystal learned, the more she realized that gardening brings wholesome food into your kitchen, promotes a healthier lifestyle, helps you relax, and connects you to nature. With that in mind, she began the Garden Coach Society in May of 2018 and then founded Lettuce Grow Something, building a kitchen garden for her first client, a friend, soon after.
Now, Lettuce Grow Something designs beautiful and productive raised bed kitchen gardens in Austin, Texas, and provides opportunities for both novices and gardener gurus to grow and learn more in their own outdoor spaces. “We've set out to make kitchen gardening something for everyone. We take you every step of the way in growing your own kitchen garden,” Crystal says.
